About

The Center for Community Health & Prevention of the University of Rochester Medical Center encompasses a wide variety of programs and initiatives aimed at preventing disease to create a healthier community. Experts on our clinical team work with patients to manage stress and cholesterol, stop smoking/vaping, improve nutrition and physical activity and more. We also offer community-based programs across the region that address a variety of health topics. Our mission is to join forces with the community to promote health equity; improve health through research, education, services, and policy; and establish local and national models for prevention and community engagement.

More Health Care in Rochester

Trillium Health Harm Reduction Services Community health center
Injection drug users (IDUs) can become infected with HIV and Hepatitis C through sharing contaminated syringes and other injection equipment; they can then transmit the viruses to others through high-risk sexual behavior. Public Health Law allows individuals to legally obtain and transport syringes provided they enroll in a Syringe Exchange Program (SEP) and carry an identification card with a unique number. Trillium Health SEP staff educate about the dangers of sharing needles and injection equipment, provide sterile syringes and safe disposal methods of used syringes. Staff also provide linkage and navigation services to medical care, rehabilitation services, and other supportive services.
St Joseph's Neighborhood Center Community health center
St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center (SJNC), in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph, seeks to create a healthier community by providing comprehensive, affordable, and affirming healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured in the Rochester region. We are an independent organization, not affiliated with another health system. We provide health care, counseling, and care coordination to our patients, clients, and neighbors. Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1993, SJNC became an independent nonprofit in 2012. The Sisters of St. Joseph charism and compassion for our neighbors in need is a legacy that lives on in our work today. Please call us at 585-325-5260 or visit our website for more information.

JJ Skincare Skin care clinic
Hi, I’m Jenny, the vision and heartbeat of JJ Skincare. As a Licensed Holistic Esthetician, I merge the wisdom of nature with the precision of science and the intuition of soul. Specializing in acne, age management, and skin health, I craft treatments that are never one-size-fits-all—each experience is a ritual, tailored to unlock your skin’s highest potential. Beyond the treatment table, I design home care regimens that fuel real, lasting transformation. My studio is more than skincare; it’s a sanctuary where stress dissolves, balance is restored, and your skin and spirit find renewal. Here, self-care becomes soul-care, and results become radiant.
